Marshall Jimi Hendrix re-issue amp

The Marshall Super 100JH, is a limited re-issue of the Super 100 amplifier from Marshall amplification. The release celebrates the companies 40th year association with Jimi Hendrix and aims to replicate the first Marshall amplifiers used by Hendrix

The amplifier stack features the Super 100 JH head, a 1982AJH 4 x 12” angled cabinet together with a 1982BJH straight cabinet.

The head is all valve and features 3 ECC83 pre-amps and 4 KT66 Power amp valves. The head features four EQ controls – Presence, Bass, Middle and Treble and top and bottom inputs for each channel. It also comes equipped with Panel features thick, gold colored Plexiglas replicating the original model. The front panel is visibly similar to that of a JTM45.

Both speaker cabinets are loaded with Celestion speakers (G12C 25 Watt). These speakers emulate the original 25 Watt Greenback speakers.

In order to make the Super 100JH identical to the 1966, 100-Watt heads Jimi Hendrix used, the circuit, cosmetics, construction, sound and all-important dynamic characteristics needed to entirely authentic. Marshall have made a strenuous effort to ensure authenticity (for example where possible they have sourced components and materials from the original manufacturers) and included research and discussions with roadies and technicians from the period.

Hendrix originally played through a Marshall stack for the first time while in London in 1966. Through his drummer Mitch Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix was introduced to James Marshall. In October of 1966 Jimi visited the Marshall factory. When Jimi left Jim's store he had purchased four 100 Watt Marshall stacks.

Hendrix was quoted saying "Meeting Jim was beyond groovy for me. It was such a relief to talk to someone who knows and cares about sound.”

Only 600 Jimi Hendrix Signature Stacks will be available worldwide and each head is individually numbered and comes with a numbered certificate signed by Dr. Jim Marshall. Each head and cabinet also bears the official Authentic Hendrix logo.
The Jimi Hendrix Signature Stack is available now from Marshall amplification.
